Ingredients:
3 large pears 3 large peaches (can adjust fruit to fit baking dish) 3 tbsp. orange juice to keep fruit from turning dark 1 bought pie crust (can be the plate or rolled kind) 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tbsp + 1 tsp. corn starch dissolve in the melted butter below 2 tbsp melted butter and add to fruit mixture and stir 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp vanilla Pinch of salt For Crisp topping: 1 cup of oats 1/2 to 3/4 cup of brown sugar 1 tsp cinnamon 1/2 stick of melted butter
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 Poke holes with a fork in the bottom of the pie crust, Bake in preheated oven for about 7-10 minutes.( For crisper bottom crust can use an egg wash prior to pre-baking.) While oven is preheating prepare fruit(peel and cut), add orange juice, cinnamon, cornstarch & butter roux, brown sugar and vanilla, & salt stir together. Pour fruit mixture in to a prepared pie shell. Mix together crisp topping and generously sprinkle over fruit mixture. Bake about 45 to 50 minutes. Let cool at least 15-20 minutes as fruit will be very hot. Bonus: Add Ice Cream of your choice. Enjoy!
