Popcorn Balls

A favorite fall treat that My Mama Lewis used to make for us kids.

Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup sorghum syrup
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/4 to 1/2 water
about 2 quarts popped popcorn

Instructions:
Heat ingredients in a heavy pan. To 250°F hard boil stage. Pour hot syrup over popcorn that has carefully been checked for un-popped kernels. shape into baseball or tennis ball sized balls. Enjoy. It helps to butter the bowl and use quart zip lock bags to handle hot syrup sprayed with Pam.
